Feedback from our guests

“Azalea House was ideal for our needs.”

"The weather was amazing for September so we were out all the time but the house is so comfortable and well equipped that it would have been fine if it had rained all the time. Games for the children, brambles to pick in the paddock and space for ball games. Easy reach of beautiful beaches and walks - including Goatfell. "

Local Area

King's Cross Point is a quiet secluded part of the island with a small friendly community. It is within easy reach of village amenities in Whiting Bay. There are numerous paths around the point where you can access the two sheltered bays with a small sandy beach and rock pools to explore when the tide's out.

You will see plenty of wildlife, including seals, dolphins, the occasional otter or basking shark and numerous sea birds including oystercatchers, seagulls, herons, sandpipers and spectacular diving gannets. There is also a large grassy area that is very tranquil with stunning views of Holy Isle with its lighthouse and the Arran hills to the north - an ideal place for a picnic.

The village of Whiting Bay is a 15 - 20 minute stroll along the coastline or through the fields to the beachside cafes and restaurants, small independent stores and services for everyday essentials and local produce. For more information please follow this link to our 'Foodies' page.

Felicity's at Bar Eden is a popular vibrant spot for morning coffee and also offers a lunch and dinner menu featuring local produce.  There is also underground bar with pool table and TV.  We also recommend the Coffee Pot for home-baking and lunches.  The Village Hall plays host to an eclectic range of local bands, visiting musicians and ceilidhs. And for art lovers, the Arran Art Gallery displays a wonderful selection of local and Scottish artwork with a delightful courtyard garden.

There are numerous trails and paths for walking and cycling, including circular forestry paths to Glenashdale Falls and the Giant’s Graves.
