Brodick Castle has been closed for essential fire safety works and will reopen for Easter 2019.

Sun 1 April - Easter Fun for all the family at Brodick Castle including the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt and egg decorating.  Usual entry prices apply to non-members; £2 per Egg Hunt.  10:30hrs to 15:00 hrs.  

Fri 5 April - Nature Play for Families - join the rangers at Brodick Castle & Country Park for some fun and creative al fresco art using leaves, mud, sticks and stones in the stunning setting of Brodick Castle grounds.  14.00 hrs. 1 hour duration. Free event.

Sat 27 April - Goatfell Torchlight Charity Challenge 2019.  Experience the magic of being on a high mountain in darkness, in the safe company of experienced Arran Mountain Rescue Team members and the National Trust's Arran Ranger Service, raising money for upland footpath work and Mountain Rescue.  17:15 hrs.  £15 registration fee and raise a minimum sponsorship of £50.  Registration closes midnight 24th April 2019.  

Sat 13 April Ultra Trail Arran Rat Race.  


Fri 17 May - Mon 20 May: Arran Mountain Festival: A weekend of mountain walks led by experienced guides and social gatherings in the evenings.

Sat 18 May:  Goatfell Hill Race: A serious test of your running skills with a race up and down Arran's highest peak.

Sat 15 June - Arran Golf Pass Marathon 2019.  93 holes, 7 courses, one island!

Fri 29 June Malt & Music Festival.  Based at Lochranza Distillery the Malt & Music Festival has live music, whisky and tasting classes and fod.  


Mid-July date to be confirmed:  Whiting Bay Fun Week: Family Fun in the Park, Beach Sculpture Competition, Car Treasure Hunt, Rock Pool Scramble, Scavenger Hunt at the Putting Green, Village Market, Family Quiz at Whiting Bay Hall, Tug of War and Tractor Pull, Raft Race at the jetty.

Date to be confirmed:  The Kinloch Beer Festival, Blackwaterfoot. 20 different world beers will be waiting to be sampled along with entertainment from different bands.


Wed 7 Aug:  Arran Farmers 181st Show. Experience the unique Arran atmosphere... come along to Glenkiln, Lamlash and share in this historic day.

Sat 10 Aug:  The Brodick Highland Games. Traditional Highland games including heavy events, track and field, children's races, Highland dancing and pipe solos. Local produce stalls.  11am-5pm.

Fri 2 - Mon 5 Aug:  Arran Open Studios. Come and meet the artists, venture behind the studio doors to find out about their methods and inspiration. View, buy or commission work. Wander from studio to studio through the beautiful Arran landscape taking time to sample the ‘artists’ recommendations.


Fri 6-8 Sept - Arran Geofest 2019.  A fascinating way to find out more about Arran's incredible geological history.

31 Dec - 1 Jan:  Hogmanay Celebrations around the island, in village halls, pubs and hotels.

1 Jan:  The Douglas Dook. From the jetty in front of Bilslands - make your first 'dook' of the year into the Firth of Clyde! All proceeds to Arran Mountain Rescue Team.
